Marokka is a London-based design firm passionate about animals, the environment and the geometry of the things that surround us in everyday life. They have such amazing designs as well as truly unique products, all of which make great gifts for anyone who loves and appreciates quality and expertly crafted products.
Marokka Yorick Luxury Scented Candle
Marokka has a great brand message and they donate 10% of all sales to two different charities; DOTS (Dogs of the Street) and the Aspinall Foundation. I love that brands do this because it’s so great to give back to the community.
All Marokka pieces feature faceted geometric designs and are crafted by a team of expert artisans who share the brand’s passion for design and finding sustainable solutions and materials that don’t harm the environment.
I love the look of the Marokka Yorick Luxury Scented Candle from the brand’s candle collection, made in collaboration with Half Cut Candles. Half Cut Candles is another interesting brand that focuses on reuse. Their candles are made with sustainably and responsibly sourced wax to avoid deforestation and use smallholder farmers who are closely monitored for this.
They recognized that so many of life’s celebrations and memories are formed over a glass of wine or soda, so Half Cut Candles wanted to create a way to capture those moments without throwing the bottle away. Therefore, the glass used to make the Marokka Yorick Luxury Scented Candle is made from repurposed clear glass, which is a very unique concept.
Marokka Yorick Luxury Scented Candles are £55, and is one of three candle designs, Yorick is a skull themed design, as are Frank the French Bulldog and Gus the Gorilla. Each candle can be bought in two versions, one with a handmade lid and nickel-tin charm, and the other without a matching lid, for £28.

Marokka Yorick Luxury Scented Candle has a heart of jasmine and amber with cocoa, bergamot and orange. It is described as a unique and mysterious fragrance with base notes of patchouli, cedarwood and musk. To me, Marokka Yorick Luxury Scented Candle smells like a candle version of Thierry Mugler Angel. The notes are very similar and the smell intensifies once lit.
It’s a great unisex fragrance and the amazing skull charm on the lid looks very edgy. I think this candle would make an especially great gift for men because it’s so cute and comes in a one-color cardboard tube. When the candle is finished you can reuse the glass and lid, this is a very beautifully scented luxury handmade candle.
