The world is such a scary place right now, and it feels a little insensitive to post gift idea content but this is a post I’ve been planning since the end of January and I didn’t want to let any brands or people down by postponing the content. I know many of us are unable to leave the house right now, but many of these brands I’m going to showcase, are allowing online orders. Plus those that aren’t available online, are still things you could purchase in the future, or something similar, so I really hope you enjoy reading about these lovely Easter gift ideas.
Easter Food Drink and Gift Guide 2020
My first suggestions within my Easter Food Drink and Gift Guide are from gourmet popcorn brand; Joe & Seph’s. I’ve heard a lot about the Joe & Seph’s brand, but until recently, I’d never tried any of their products before. I was kindly sent a selection pack of their products to get an idea of what they’re about, and oh my gosh is their popcorn amazing. I love sweet flavoured popcorn, but I’ve never been a fan of popcorn like Butterkist as they’re always so hard with so many unpopped kernels. The Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn is the best popcorn I’ve tried, and I am dying to buy some more to try as I’ve loved this selection so much.
I had three of their pouches. First up, it’s the Easter Trio of Chocolate Popcorn which features their gourmet popcorn coated in White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and Cookies & Cream which are just so deliciously sweet. Then the Easter Gingerbread Popcorn which is the newest addition to the Joe & Seph’s range and has their gourmet popcorn coated in their signature smooth Caramel and added pure stem Ginger. Then the final pouch is the Easter Chocolate & Hazelnut Popcorn which like the name suggests, features Belgian milk chocolate, smooth Caramel and crunchy Hazelnuts.
The Chocolate Lover’s Gourmet Popcorn Selection is perfect for me, as I’m a massive chocoholic, with Caramel & White Chocolate, Caramel & Belgian Chocolate and Double Chocolate Popcorn and our luxurious, rich Dark Chocolate Popcorn Bites in a cute little box. If you like smaller gifts, they have the Dark Chocolate Popcorn Bites which feature their Salted Caramel Popcorn placed in an indulgent chocolate cup. My two favourites from the whole Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn collection are the last two. The Chocolate Popcorn Mini Eggs are milk chocolate cups, containing two pieces of salted caramel popcorn, and the White Chocolate & Raspberry Popcorn Bites are white chocolate cups containing one piece of gourmet raspberry popcorn. Joe & Seph’s have the most amazing popcorn range, and if you’re a popcorn fan, you simply have to check them out.
From delicious edible treats for Easter, to a pamper treat. The Mad Beauty Egg Shaped Bath Bombs are the most adorable bath bombs, and could they be more perfect for Easter? They’re £7.99 which I feel like is a really great price for a gift set that’s so beautifully packaged. The Mad Beauty Egg Shaped Bath Bombs come in a beige egg box like you’d find in a supermarket, and the box contains six pastel coloured, egg shaped bath bombs.
You get two mint green, two pastel pink and two blue bath bombs, and they’re individually wrapped in cling film to keep them dry and protected. Each of the bath bombs have a vanilla buttercream fragrance which smells really lovely, but it would be nice if the different colours within the set, were different scents but who doesn’t love the scent of vanilla buttercream? For £7.99, you get six bath bombs so six baths which works out at £1.33 per bath bomb which is amazing, as you’d typically pay a lot more for just one bath bomb.
I couldn’t do a gift guide feature without featuring my faves, the Isle of White Distillery. I’ve featured the original Mermaid Gin here on my blog back in November, and then their Mermaid Pink Gin in February, but they’ve recently introduced a selection of gift sets which are just beautiful. First up is the Isle of Wight Distillery Mermaid Pink Gin Gift Set which is a must-have for any gin lover. It’s packaged within the most exquisite pastel pink and gold gift box, with stars all over the lid. It’s so luxe, and so special making it a fabulous gift idea.
Under the lid, there’s a full size bottle of the amazing Mermaid Pink Gin, and the set also contains two beautiful gold patterned Copa de Balon glasses. The glasses are the nicest gin glasses I’ve ever used, and are described as being designed to trap the aromas of the gin and allow for generous measures of spirit, mixer and ice. The Mermaid Pink Gin is truly special as it infused the flavour and aromatics of island strawberries with the smooth yet complex taste of their award winning Mermaid Gin, a blend of lemon zest, grains of paradise and fragrant rock samphire.
The second gift set from the Isle of Wight Distillery gifting range, is the Mermaid Pink Gin Miniature Gift Pack which is super cute and such a great gift idea for those that have never tried the Mermaid Gin before. The Isle of Wight Distillery have a miniature set for both their original Mermaid Gin, and the Mermaid Pink Gin, and both sets are £16.80 (down from £21) each, and they contain three miniature sized 5cl bottles of their super special spirit.
If you’re a try it before you buy it kind of drink lover, these miniature kits really are ideal as they give you the opportunity to try the spirit without purchasing the full size. If you love gin, you’ll adore Mermaid Gin as it’s unlike any other gin I’ve tried. Some brands that have miniature bottles use plastic, but these three bottles have the same amazing pink to clear ombré design bottle, with the same mermaid scale effect. The set would also be good around Christmas time too, as you could split the set up and gift the three bottles separately as stocking fillers.
I have another beauty gift idea, and it doesn’t even have to be a gift idea. It could just be a nice duo if you fancy trying something new within your hair care routine. The current situation we’re all facing right now is undeniably tough, and we’re all spending a lot more time at home than we normally would, so I’ve definitely enjoyed more pampering over the last couple of weeks. OGX are a really lovely haircare brand, and I’ve tried many of their different ranges. They have so many different ranges for every hair type and every hair concern and the new OGX Apple Cider Vinegar is their newest range, designed for Clarify and Shine.
The OGX Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo and Conditioner are just two products within the range, as there’s also a Hair Rinse Treatment too. Described as having a scalp clarifying DIY inspired blend, infused with apple cider vinegar to gently cleanse, balance and boost shine. The gentle cleansing formula claims to help remove residue build-up, prevent moisture loss and add luscious shine to strands.
No Easter gift guide could ever be complete without an Easter egg, and I have an epic egg from one of my favourite chocolate brands. The Guylian Sea Shell Easter Egg is an egg available at most major supermarkets, and whilst we can only go shopping for essentials right now, you might still see Easter treats instore whilst buying your essential food items. Even if this particular egg isn’t available right now, Guylian always have an amazing range of products all year round for all seasons.
This Guylian Sea Shell Easter Egg is £8 and contains two mini boxes of Guylian Seashells, which each contain six seashells giving you a total of twelve Guylian Seashells. As well as the cute little boxes of seashells, you also get a 160g premium unwrapped Egg embossed with Guylian’s iconic Seahorse. The packaging is really lovely, with a clear window on the front and back of the box which showcases the seahorse embossed design both on the front and the back. To me I feel like the egg looks like it’d be more than £8, as it is so nicely presented, and I just love, love, love Guylian chocolate so this is my perfect Easter egg.
My next treat suggestion to enjoy over Easter is the Oggs Chocolate Celebration Cake, which is a great gift idea especially for vegans. Oggs are an ethical cake company, and they’ve launched the first vegan celebration cake in UK supermarkets. I’ve never really thought about it before, but there really aren’t any celebration cakes easily accessible for vegans and you can’t just go to any supermarket and pick a birthday cake off the shelves, so the Oggs Chocolate Celebration Cake is a very much needed launch.
My cake isn’t in the best condition as it arrived via Royal Mail absolutely battered, and if you purchase this cake instore or via home delivery, it’s not going to be thrown around a post van so it won’t look like this but the most important thing is that it tastes really nice. The cake is just £8 and is a chocolate sponge cake filled and topped with a chocolate fudge frosting, and finished with chocolate curls, decorative stars and gold shimmer. Like the rest of the Oggs range every element of the cake, including the edible stars and glitter sprinkled over the top, is vegan friendly, with the sponge itself made using Oggs patented Aquafaba
I’m a big fan of Aldi, and we do pretty much 90% of our weekly food shopping there as the quality is great but the prices are even better. Aldi are known for having an amazing wine and spirits collection, so if you need some inspiration on what Aldi Wines and Spirits are on offer, I have one of their spirits and three wines to show you, and they’re all priced under £16.
The spirit is the Harrison Gin, which is one of their bestselling tipples and won an International Spirits Challenge award in 2019. In fact Aldi have won 24 medals in 2019 for their spirits which just emphases how incredible their spirits are. From what I’ve read online, the Harrison Gin is the budget friendly dupe for Hendrick’s Gin which is double the price. Aldi describe Harrison Gin as crisp and smooth with zesty botanicals, floral aromas well balanced with juniper and refreshing cucumber.
Next up is the The Fire Tree Sicilian Reserva, which is part of a multiple variety Sicilian wine collection inspired in the trees surrounding the Italian island’s Mount Etna which often catch fire during volcanic eruptions. Featuring rich flavours of red fruit and chocolate, with hints of liquorice notes have been ageing in large oak barrels to enrich both the elegance and the structure of this powerful Sicilian Riserva. Then we have the Ferrandière French Merlot, which is made from soil situated between the Montagne Noire and Pyrenean Piedmont, with the Domaine Ferrandière nestled on the bed of an old salt water lagoon. This unique soil is the perfect environment for vine growing and nurtures a special freshness and taste in this wine.
The third and final wine I have to show you is the Primanero Organic Primitivo, which is medium to full bodied. It’s produced using only the exceptional Organic Primitivo grapes grown in Puglia. The Primanero has a deep red colour, with a complex bouquet, reminiscent of cherries, raspberries and red currants. The oak ageing adds a pleasant roasted and spicy aroma, making this full-bodied and supple wine perfect with roasted red meats and mature cheeses. How amazing does that sound for a wine description? If white wine or rosé are more your thing, Aldi have a fantastic selection of those too, both online and instore.
I featured Fiona Cairns delicious cakes in my Christmas Gift Guide, and I absolutely loved them. You may recognise the Fiona Cairns name as Fiona made the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding cake, and their cakes are available to purchase on their website and also in Waitrose. Fiona Cairns is a 35 year old bakery business that now employs about 100 bakers and cake decorators, and everything is made by hand using traditional fine quality ingredients.
If you have never tried any of the Fiona Cairns cakes before, you’re seriously missing out and I have two of their offerings from their Easter collection. Firstly is the Fiona Cairns Simnel Cake which is a very traditional Easter cake, and it comes in an adorable lilac tin with dancing bunnies around the outside. The Simnel Cake is a spiced fruited sponge cake with a layer of marzipan baked within, topped and decorated with marzipan. The marzipan has the prettiest, intricate almost lace-effect on the top and the moistest of sponges. It’s the best Simnel Cake I’ve tried, and I would definitely repurchase it.
I first tried the Fiona Cairns Fairy Cakes back in December, and they have a special Fiona Cairns Spring Flowers Fairy Cakes design for Easter. They include six adorable, iced fairy cakes with Spring fondant designs on the top and for £6.50, I think they’re really fairly priced. You get two of each of the three designs, one of which is a pastel blue background with a 3D daffodil, a mint green background with three tiny mini eggs and then a lemon yellow background with a cute little bunny. The attention to detail is just amazing, and just look at how fluffy the sponge is. I cannot recommend these fairy cakes enough, I love them!
I have another pampering treat to show you for my last gift idea, this time it’s the African Extracts Rooibos 3 Step Everyday Starter Kit. I originally featured African Rooibos on my blog back at Christmas, and they have three different Starter Kits available depending on your skin type/concern and they’re £8.99 each. African Extracts create South African skincare products inspired by the natural antioxidant power of rooibos. Founded in 2002, African Extracts Rooibos skin care is a South African beauty brand inspired by the unique antioxidant power of the rooibos plant that grows naturally only in one place on earth – the rugged Cederberg mountains.
The African Extracts Rooibos 3 Step Everyday Starter Kit contains the Soothing Cleansing Lotion, Refreshing Toner and Moisturising Day Cream in miniature sizes, making them ideal for travel or ideal if you’re yet to try their products and you fancy giving a few products from the range a try. In addition to this set, there’s also a Spot Control Starter Kit and Anti-Ageing Starter Kit too, and all three contain miniature sized bottles and tubes.
I really hope you’ve enjoyed reading my Easter Gift Guide.
