OK, who remembers VO5 Hot Oil Therapy? Six or seven years ago, when they were so popular, they were featured in almost every beauty blogger’s beauty post and YouTube video, and I remember loving them. I don’t even know why I stopped using them, but they used to be little clear plastic tubes that you had to heat up in a big cup of hot water or under hot water before removing the twist off device for you hair pre-shampoo.These little oil treatments have changed names many times over the years, as well as their packaging, but when I found VO5 Nourishing Coconut Thermal Oil The treatments, I knew I had to give them a try because I wondered if they were still as good as I remembered them to be.
VO5 Nourishing Coconut Thermal Oil Therapy is £4.39 That’s about the same price as before, and you’ll still get four separate treatments a week in the box.
“Add nourishment to your dry and damaged hair with this coconut-scented intensive pre-wash treatment from VO5.Designed to restore healthy radiance and softness while Infused with Exotic Coconut Scented, this hot oil has a non-greasy finish for color-treated hair.“
To help prevent damage from heat styling and daily brushing, VO5 hot Oil penetrates deep into the hair arrive:
-
Up to 60% less breakage from brushing
-
Finds and binds weak areas of each chain
-
Removes 75% more chlorine than shampooing alone
The packaging of the VO5 Nourishing Coconut Hot Oil is very similar to the original formula, except that the individual tubes are now free of the nasty plastic twist pieces, which I am very happy about. Instead, they now have screw-off caps that make it easier to remove with wet hands in the shower. The tubes still contain 15ml of product and the oil is very thick and viscous in the tube before you put it in hot water which makes the consistency more runny.
VO5 Nourishing Coconut Thermal Oil Review
This new version is definitely thinner than before, and it tends to be more runny once heated, but that’s a good thing because it makes it easier to distribute the oil evenly throughout the hair. These oils have a lovely coconut scent and you should apply the oil to damp hair before shampooing, then after applying the oil to your hair, let it sit for a minute before proceeding with your normal shampooing routine.
I find they rinse off easily and my Shampoo to remove any residual oil easily. It is recommended that you use the treatments once a week, I really like how they work on my hair.i always like to use hair Hair gets oily when wet because it helps tame Any frizz, they will also speed up drying time.
when i apply oil when styling My hair doesn’t look as shiny as it usually does after using one of the treatments, so that’s my only downside, but I have very fine hair and get heavy easily. I don’t think they’re as amazing as they used to be, but I don’t know if that’s because endless oils have been released since these hot oils are so popular, so they’re not as impressive.
I bought 2 packs when I first started and will run out but I won’t be repurchasing as I’ve tried using regular pomade with heat before shampooing and it works exactly the same and it’s more affordable if anything That way, instead of just buying 4 x 15ml treatments for almost £5.
I’m glad I tried them again, if I had particularly damaged hair I’d probably buy them but I’d rather buy something like pure Superdrug coconut oil as you can get 125ml for just £2.49 and You can use it on the skin also.
VO5 Nourishing Coconut Thermal Oil is available from Superdrug for £4.39.
